Hello! Andrea and Danielle here, the two mamas, makers, and founders behind this online magazine.
We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit Crafting Connections today! Perhaps you found us by clicking a pin on Pinterest (our knitting pins seem especially popular). Or you googled “arts and crafts for a 1 year old” or “creative quotes.” Perhaps you found us through Instagram or Facebook. Or perhaps it was just sheer luck and now you find yourself here, wondering what to do next.
Now there’s a chance you find yourself here for a completely different reason – you’re here because you’re looking for something different. You’re tired of Pinterest-perfect crafts, tired of blogs telling you how easy it is to do a bazillion crafts and activities with your little one without offering any real help, tired of feeling like you’re failing as a creative parent. Let us be the first to tell you – you’re not failing (you wouldn’t be here if you were!), making art doesn’t have to be messy or hard to be meaningful, and you can be a great creative parent and individual without ever doing a single Pinterest-worthy craft or project! Yes, you read that right. We’re letting you in on a little secret and letting you off the hook – you never ever have to craft if you don’t want to and it doesn’t mean you’re not creative. Just let that sink in for a moment…
Feeling a bit better? We hope so!
Perhaps now we can tell you just a bit more about Crafting Connections, we’ll make it quick. In short – we are obsessed with real-life creativity! And over the years we’ve found that we’re not alone – many of you share our obsession. Yours are the families who love to DIY what they can, who encourage creative and critical thinking in their little ones, who, as adults, work to continue developing their own sense of wonder, curiosity, and yes, creativity.
Crafting Connections offers practical inspiration such as DIYs, tutorials, and recipes, creative support for anyone working on raising a more creative family, and real glimpses into the lives of creative folks and families, all different but beautiful and successful in their own ways. Our main goal is to help bring your love of all things creative into the rhythm of your home in a truly authentic, stress-free manner. You can read a bit more about us here.
A great way to start seeing what we’re all about and finding answers to questions you didn’t even know you had would be to read our posts right from our homepage. Those are our most recent writings and are often inspired by questions and conundrums posed to us by our readers (like you!) If you’re looking for something specific, check our our Projects & More tab where you can search by keyword or category. Or you can check out a few reader favorites below.

You may want to check out our digital Seasons Set and Senses Set that explore both topics in an artful way with creative projects, poetry, beautiful imagery, engaging questions and more. You can find both sets and more HERE.
We just wanted to thank you again for finding you way into our space. We’d love to stay connected.
