We believe in crafting an authentic, connected, and creative life through the act of making.
Crafting Connections is a magazine and website dedicated to providing you with the tools and inspiration for raising creative children, while learning a bit about yourself, as well, along the way.
We publish a quarterly creative magazine for little ones and their grown-ups; we also offer subscriptions, special-themed magazines (like Road Trip), a monthly mini-magazine, and other creative products as we’re inspired (such as our Story Stones!)
Our own children were toddlers-to- young preschoolers at the time, and we noticed a real void when it came to finding simple, engaging child-led crafts and quality magazines for young children. Additionally, as parents ourselves, we know first-hand of the overwhelming pressures of modern-day motherhood. In many ways mothers are led to believe we are somehow failing (psst…you’re not!) – we wanted to set fellow mothers up for success: in connecting with our children and in leading our own creative lives.
And so, with excitement (and a touch of trepidation – we are only human, you know!) we combined our creative forces and have been working towards filling these voids ever since.
I’m Andrea Folsom (also of Glad To Be Here) – I’m a writer, editor, creative maker, and above all, an eternal optimist! A life-long artist, I love to find brightness and beauty in the every day, the unexpected and the mundane. Also, my favorite color is red.
I currently live in Chicago with big dreams of moving back to New England (and its heavenly maple syrup) with my husband, daughter and son (ages 3 and 1), and our large, anxious Great Dane.
I’m Danielle Reiner (also of In Stolen Moments) and I’m a maker to the core. My brain is constantly buzzing with a project (or twelve) and my work table is always overflowing.
I live in Chicago with my husband and two little guys (aged 2 and 4). We love hopping on the train early on Saturday mornings and seeing what adventures our big city has in store.

Now that you know a bit about us, we want to hear about you! What does an authentic, connected and creative life look like to you? What are your little ones doing that inspires you? What creative endeavors are you working on (or hope to work on) in your own life? Let us know what you think (and we’ll write you back – promise!)
We would really love to continue these conversations with you – please sign up for our weekly newsletter and connect with us on Facebook so we can stay in touch and craft our authentic, connected, and creative lives together!
And finally, thank you. We appreciate every email, every comment, and every way you connect with us, for it is you – our readers – that inspire us to do what we do.
